About the workshop
This workshop is meant for people who want to learn pottery seriously on the wheel, not just experience it once. Each day builds on the previous one, allowing you to practice step by step and understand how the wheel works. Instead of rushing to make many pieces, the emphasis is on learning correct posture, hand positions, wheel control, and form development.
The instructor guides you throughout the workshop, helping you correct mistakes, improve consistency, and gain confidence on the wheel. This is a structured, skill-based workshop with clear learning outcomes.
What You’ll Learn (Day-wise)
Introduction to clay, tools, and studio practices. Learn wedging, centring, and opening clay on the wheel.
Create simple forms like cups and bowls. Understand wall thickness, balance, and basic wheel control.
Work on mugs, small bowls, or vases. Learn how to refine shapes and improve consistency.
Introduction to trimming. Learn trimming tools and techniques, and trim all pieces made in earlier sessions.
Final throwing and clean finishing. Understand next steps — drying, bisque firing, and glazing.
What You’ll Make
You’ll work on multiple wheel-thrown forms across the five days.
The number of finished pieces may vary depending on your pace and learning process.
The focus is on learning technique and process, not on producing a fixed number of pieces.

Taking Your Piece Home
Pottery requires time to dry slowly, to be fired in the kiln, to be glazed and fired again. Because of this process, pieces cannot be taken home on the same day.
If you’d like to keep your work:
Glazing and firing can be added later at an additional cost of 500/pc.
Finished pieces can be collected from the studio or shipped at an additional cost 300/pc
You can make a decision about it after the workshop
