Dharamkot Studio invites applications for a residency program that blends artistic practice with teaching. This opportunity is ideal for ceramic artists looking to deepen their practice while sharing their skills as part-time instructors.
Residents will have dedicated space to develop their work while contributing 30 hours per week as part-time workshop instructors or teaching assistants.

The residency is structured around independent practice, teaching engagement, and participation in the working rhythm of the studio.
Artistic practice
Access to a fully equipped shared studio space, materials, and kilns to create and sell your work.
Teaching experience
Engage with pottery enthusiasts by leading workshops, retreats, or courses.
Financial support
Stipend of ₹25,000-₹45,000 per month, plus commission on artwork sales through the studio shop or gallery.
Representation
A social media post about your creative journey with the studio, with selected pieces included in the online shop.
Meals
Lunch is included during the residency.
Accommodation
Accommodation is not provided, but the studio can assist in finding housing nearby.
Studio facilities
- Fully equipped with pottery wheels, slab rollers, and electric and gas kilns up to 1200°C.
- Stoneware and terracotta clay available.
- A variety of glaze materials available, with artists expected to use materials judiciously.

Eligibility
Who should apply
This role is for artists who can hold their own practice while also supporting learners in the studio.
- Ceramic artists with 1 to 5 years of experience in hand-building and wheel-throwing.
- Individuals with prior experience in teaching or assisting pottery workshops, preferred but not mandatory.
- Artists with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Those with a clear artistic vision and a well-defined project for the residency.
Role & responsibilities
- Teach or assist in pottery workshops, retreats, or courses, including hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, and related studio practice.
- Dedicate 30 hours per week to instruction and studio engagement.
- Actively contribute to the studio community while developing personal artistic work.
Selection process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a video interview. Selections will be based on:
- Artistic vision and clarity of proposal.
- Technical expertise.
- Communication and teaching skills.
